Al Tarab Terms of Use (EULA)

1. About Al Tarab

Al Tarab is an educational platform for learning Middle Eastern music theory and performance. The app provides interactive tools for studying Arabic maqamat (musical modes), iqaat (rhythmic patterns), and instrument technique. Al Tarab does not distribute, stream, or host copyrighted music recordings.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using Al Tarab ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

Al Tarab is designed exclusively for music education. All content within the App serves an educational purpose:

4. Subscriptions & Auto-Renewable Purchases

Al Tarab offers auto-renewable subscription plans ("Al Tarab Pro") that provide full access to all features:

Payment & Renewal: Payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same rate.

Managing Subscriptions: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's account settings (App Store > Apple ID > Subscriptions, or Google Play > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Free Trial: If a free trial is offered, the unused portion of the trial period will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) according to their respective refund policies.

Some features require a free account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account.

All original content in Al Tarab — including the user interface, synthesized audio samples, maqam analysis algorithms, educational materials, and software code — is the intellectual property of SoftSim Technologies Inc. Traditional maqam scales, iqaat patterns, and musical theory concepts are part of the shared cultural heritage and are not claimed as proprietary.

8. Microphone Access

The App requests microphone permission for educational features including the chromatic tuner, maqam detector, and practice evaluator. Microphone audio is processed in real time on your device and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. You may revoke microphone access at any time through your device settings.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Al Tarab is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Educational content is provided for learning purposes and should not be considered authoritative academic reference material.

10. Limitation of Liability

SoftSim Technologies Inc. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

11. Modifications

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App for violation of these terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec, Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Montreal, Quebec.
